Sophie Turrel was born in 1973 in Grenoble to two very creative and talented parents and from an early age Sophie loved to draw and create. She obtained her degree from the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Saint Etienne, specializing in illustration and drawing. In 1999 Sophie began creating a unique line of calendars and greeting cards entitled « Cache-cache » or « Hide & Seek » published by editions des Correspondances in Grenoble. The notecards open in the center to reveal a whimsical turn of events.

In 2003, in addition to “Cache-caches” and other graphic projects, Sophie Turrel began illustrating a collection of children’s books « Histoires de chats » or « Cat Stories » written by her friend and colleague, Stéphanie Dunand-Pallaz.
